Every 17 seconds someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with diabetes. This may either be the result of the body resisting insulin (Type II Diabetes) or inadequate insulin production (Type I Diabetes). Insulin is required to regulate the movement of sugar from blood into cells (like muscle cells) and help maintain a normal blood sugar level.
