Find out how breakfast and cereal consumption affected the nutrient intake and body mass index in thie National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute Growth and Health Study (NGHS).  The 10-year longitudinal study followed 2,379 girls from ages 9 and 10 years at baseline.  The study found that girls who continue to eat cereal through their teen years more likely to maintain a healthful body mass index.  The full research article can be found in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 2005, vol.105 (9): 1383-1389.
