For the 2nd year in a row, the Bell Institute of Health & Nutrition (BIHN) participated in the Idea World Fitness Convention last week in Los Angeles, CA. Considered to be the “Super Bowl” of health and fitness conferences, IDEA World brings together over 12,000 personal trainers, group fitness instructors and mind-body professionals to learn about the hottest new health and wellness trends. The BIHN showcased the nutrition benefits of many GMI products including: Yoplait Greek yogurts and the new Yoplait Plenti, Big G cereals and snacks bars from Fiber One and Lärabar. Our booth was designed to replicate a modern day kitchen – complete with Mason jars filled with simple ingredients. Staffing the booth were BIHN registered dietitians and nutrition professionals along with a General Mills Chef preparing the culinary creations. Together the team shared several nutritious snacking recipes and asked attendees to share their favorite snack creations using the hashtag #HackYourSnack. Six recipes were prepared and sampled in our booth giving fitness professionals ideas on versatile ways to use cereal, yogurt and fruit. · Banana Oat Honey Smoothie (Honey Yoplait Greek 100) · Crunchy Trail Mix Bars (Yellow Box Cheerios) · Blueberry Banana Cheerios Cereal Smoothies (Honey Nut Cheerios) · Cinnamon Toast Crunch-Frosted Toast Crunch Berry Parfaits (Yoplait Greek Fat-free Plain yogurt and Cinnamon or Frosted Toast Crunch cereal) · Chex-Gluten-free No-Bake Apple Bar (Cinnamon Chex or Rice Chex) · Nature Valley Chocolate and Toasted Coconut Yogurt Bowl: (Nature Valley Protein Granola and Yoplait Greek 100 Vanilla yogurt) Join the conversation and share your favorite snack ideas with us on social media using #HackYourSnack.
